Step 1: Primary Fermentation - it is about a 30 minute process and involves transfering the packaged wine grape juice to a primary fermenting container, adding oak if called for and pitching yeast to start the fermentation process.  After about 10 to 12 days this step is complete.

SECONDARY

Step 2: Secondary Fermentation - this is about a 20 minute process and is used to transfer your fermentating wine from the lees (sediment in primary fermentator) from the primary fermentator and to finish the fermentation process in a carboy.  This step is usually complete in 10 to 14 days.

CLEARING
CLEARING

Step 3: Stabilizing & Clearing - this approximately 30 minute process is used to add ingredients that will help your wine stop any remaining fermentation, remove carbon dioxide gas and clear and stabilize it for your to enjoy for months.

Step 4: Filtration -  this process is something that we exclusively do at Juice2Wine which helps you craft the best wine that you can make.  It is an additional step that is optional, however; in so doing you will eliminate a final racking or two.

Step 5: Bottling - in this process you will move to four different stations in approximately 60 minutes to completely finish your personally crafted approximately 28 delicious bottles of wine, including: 

     Station 1 - filling your 750ml bottles with your wine from the carboy;

     Station 2 - corking each bottle;

     Station 3 - applying the PVC colorful cap and shrinking it with the heat machine; and,

     Station 4 - affixing your personally designed label to each bottle.

The best possible wine making experience for all skill levels of the home winemaker.  Each participant who chooses this hands on, fun and educational way to craft their own wine in the privacy of their home will be engaged in each step.  The wine concierge will educate and guide you through the five steps of our wine making process. With your effort through this 6 to 8 week process you will create approximately 28 750ml bottles of your own wine.  You will choose your colors and design and craft your unique label as you finish your wine.  You will be proud to share your Juice2wine lifestyle experience and a glass of wine with friends and family.  Cheers!

Prior to beginning your own wine making experience you will select the wine grape juice that you will be using to craft your wine.  A taste or two of finished wine will help you select your juice.
